Spielbericht:

THC ran out victors against the league’s last placed team Eichkamp Rupenhorn to extend their unbeaten run to eight games. It was another westward trek for the boys in Orange and Black as they visited the charming Hans-Rosenthal-Sportanlage for a slightly late 12:20 kick-off, officiated by the friendly Mr Weiser. THC were cheered by a crowd of at least three including Weizen Peter and the injured Julian. Conditions were cold on kick-off and didn’t improve. Our opponents were both late and short of a player to start with.

THC made the most of the numerical advantage in the first five minutes with some nice interplay between Conor and Milan on the edge of the box. Conor played a neat one-two/double pass with Milan, breaking the defensive line in the process and drawing the foul from the defender within the box- penalty to THC. Up stepped Conor who was lucky to see his penalty converted as the Keeper managed to get a hand on it but could only palm it into the top of the net.THC made the better of the first half with more possession and chances than their opponents but couldn’t increase their lead before the break. Brothers Kay and Bio each had chances to score but couldn’t take full advantage, while our opponent didn’t trouble Paulo at the other end.

The second half provided more of a challenge as the opponent found their eleventh player and started to attack with more threat. There was not much to report overall, Paulo making a good save with his foot to keep out their only chance of the second period. Another strong defensive display from the back five to keep another clean sheet, as Karl and Sander slotted-in in the middle while they were being supported on either side by either Kay, David or Felix. Milan made his second start for the club in the midfield, alongside Chris and Conor in the first half  who played behind a front three of Bio, Kay and Sascha, Keenan provided attacking support from the bench. Those who played the fixture last season where we threw away a two goal lead were happy enough to walk away with all three points despite it not being a more convincing scoreline. The race for the title continues…
